Margaret M. Way

Margaret M. (Blackwood) Way, 83, of Westerly, RI passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Margaret was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 31, 1940. She was the daughter of the late James E. and Marie C. (Negri) Blackwood. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward C. Way.

Margaret provided compassionate home healthcare for many years before retiring. She was extremely hard-working and independent. She took great pride in her home and yard, and loved spending time with her family. She was very devoted to her Catholic faith.

She was the loving mother of Michael J. Pont, James E. Pont and David J. Pont. She is survived by her grandchildren, Ashley M. Barker and Jacob E. Pont of Pawcatuck, CT and Michael Letendre of Texas, and her great grandson Cosmo Letendre. Margaret is also survived by her brother James E. Blackwood, Jr., nephews James E. Blackwood and Jami F. Blackwood and her niece Marie N. Blackwood, all of Rhode Island, and nephew Jeri F. Blackwood of South Carolina.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday May 1, 2024 at 10:00am at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Cobblestone Lane, Westerly, RI.
