Darla J. Rines

Darla J. Rines, 81, of Pawcatuck passed away peacefully on September 1, 2017. Darla was the daughter of Harry E. Jewett and Bertha D. (Sanborn) Jewett of Fryeburg, Maine, and sister to the late Patricia (Jewett) Tennant.
Darla was the beloved wife of 54 years of the late Andrew W. Rines. She is survived by four loving children and their spouses, Lisa Ploof and her husband Ronald, Andrea Yates, David Rines and his wife Sheryl, and Stephen Rines and his wife Justine. Darla is also survived by seven loving and beautiful grandchildren, David, Sara, Alyssa, Jacob, Andrew, Kaitlyn and Matthew.
Darla was a graduate of Fryeburg Academy and received a degree from the Forsythe School of Dental Hygiene in Boston. While raising four children, she also worked as a dental hygienist in Westerly and was active in tennis and golf. Darla’s true passions were her church and her music. She was a devoted member of the United Congregational Church of Westerly, and she served as its organist for 18 years.
A service for Darla will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 11 AM at the United Congregational Church of Westerly, 9 Castle Hill Road, Pawcatuck, CT 06379. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, September 8, from 4-7 PM at Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main Street, Westerly, RI 02891. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Darla’s name may be made to, United Congregational Church of Westerly, 9 Castle Hill Road, Pawcatuck, CT 06379.
