Mildred May Brown

Mildred May (Tefft) Brown, 91, of Wyoming, RI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Richard I. Brown. Born in Exeter, RI on May 10, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Lester C. Tefft and Ethel (Lewis) Tefft.

Mildred was a hardworking and dedicated employee for Kenyon Mill for many years as a textile worker. She raised her family and enjoyed the times that they had all together especially spending time with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Shannock Baptist Church where she was baptized.

Besides her loving husband of 67 years, she will be dearly missed by her children Richard L. Brown of Wyoming, R.I, who lived with her and was her caregiver at the end of her life; Robert F. Brown (Cheryl) of Hope Valley, R.I, Susan J. McAndrews, and Cynthia J. Waterman, both of Smithfield, R.I. She was the loving grandmother to Rebecca, Christopher, Erin, Ryan, Joseph, Joshua, and Evan; and great-grandmother to Sarah along with twins Evan and Aidan. Mildred was predeceased by her brothers Frederick Tefft who was killed in the Korean War, and Leslie Tefft.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at River Bend Cemetery in Westerly, RI. All other services are private.
