Patricia T. McNeill

Patricia (Turano) McNeill, 92, of Edgewood Ave. Westerly, RI, died peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at her home on Friday April 5, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Charles L. McNeill for over 70 years.

Born in Westerly, RI on October 15, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Peter G. Sr. and Theresa “Tess” (O’Neill) Turano.

In addition to her husband, Pat is survived by her four children, Stephen and Doreen McNeill and their family, Conor (Morgan) McNeill, Mark (Hydi) Champlin, Holly Champlin and Peter (Mya) Champlin; Larry and Julie McNeill (Rosie); Tricia and Michael Barber and their family, Leslie Bridgman (Justin) and Julie Barber; Sheila McNeill Howe and her family, Gary T Wight, Jr, Jackson Howe (Kendra) and Suzanne Constantine (Joshua). Pat is also survived by five precious great grandchildren (and another on the way). She leaves many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her sister, Rita Nason. She was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph B. Turano, Peter G. Turano, Jr, Margaret Trebisacci, Jackie Panciera and KayKay Turano.

Pat graduated from The Immaculate Conception School and Westerly High School. She has maintained many beautiful friendships with her classmates. She also attended Becker Jr. College.

She was employed for many years at McCormick’s Department Store. She took great pride is being named a buyer and department manager, and enjoyed travelling to NYC on buying trips. Pat then went to work at McMonogram in Mystic and in later years, she was employed at Brooks Pharmacy.

Pat was involved in the Mentor Program in the Westerly School System. She was grateful for the 22-year relationship with her wonderful friend, Rick.

Pt surrounded herself with her fellow knitters. If she really liked you, you are wearing a pair of her handknit socks. Her favorite place was Seaside Beach Club; sitting, talking, having coffee with her friends or running after Reese and Claire.

Please remember Pat sitting happily in the sunshine, as she was our sunshine.

The McNeill family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday April 11, 2024 from 4-7 PM at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St. Westerly, RI. Funeral service and burial will be private.
