Albert Knight, 89, of North Stonington, CT, passed peacefully on Tuesday August 9, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Judy (Bliven) Knight.
He was born in Westerly on February 14, 1933.
Mr. Knight served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. He later went onto work as a Rigger at Electric Boat in Groton, CT for over 34 years before retiring.
Albert built and took pride in his own home in North Stonington. He loved working on his home, in his yard, building stone walls, patio and waterfalls around his property. He was also known for his masonry skills and stone work throughout CT. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, Pittsburgh Steelers and UCONN Women’s Basketball fan.
Besides his loving and devoted wife of 63 years he will be sadly missed by his two children, his son David A. Knight (Lori) of North Stonington, CT, his daughter, Trisha DeLoge of Hubbardston, MA. He also leaves his granddaughter, Charissa Rathbun and 4 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his grandson Cory DeLoge and his brothers, Horace and Claude Knight.
Albert’s family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday August 14, 2022 from 2-5 PM at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St. Westerly, RI. Funeral service and burial with Military Honors will be private at River Bend Cemetery.
