Anthony Perrone, Jr.

May 24, 1938 ~ February 3, 2024 (age 85) 85 Years Old


Anthony “Tony” Perrone, Jr., 85 of Pawcatuck, CT., died peacefully at his home on Saturday February 3, 2024 surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved husband of Kathryn “Kay” (Thompson) Perrone.
Born in Westerly, RI on May 24, 1938 he was the son of the late Antonio Perrone and Frances (Locascio) Perrone.

Tony graduated from Norwich Technical High School in Norwich, CT. where he studied electrical technology. He went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Air Force. After his military career he went to work at Electric Boat in Groton, CT. where he was an Electrical Nuclear Inspector before his retirement.

Tony was not one to sit idly at home he was active during his retirement years. He was an avid member of the ARRL HAM Radio club since age 15, with the call letters W1CGI, connecting with friends in the club all over the world on a daily basis. Tony was actively involved at Central Baptist Church with Kay. He played the clarinet in the Westerly Band for many years, enjoyed being a beekeeper, was a long- time volunteer of the Pawcatuck Fire Department serving with the Fire Police, enjoyed kayaking, boating on his boat “The Bug”, making soupy with his friends, and growing his vegetable garden to share with family and friends.

Besides his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, he will be sadly missed by his daughter, Alicia Luther and her husband Michael, of Pawcatuck, and his beloved granddaughter, Jordan Luther of Pittsburgh, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Salvatore Perrone and his wife Becky and his sister, Josephine Pulsifer and her husband Melvin.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday February 8, 2024, from 4-7 at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St. Westerly, RI. Funeral service will be held at the Central Baptist Church, 16 Elm St., Westerly, RI on Friday at 11:00 A.M. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in River Bend Cemetery.
