Barbara A. (Billings) Lynch, 88, of Clark St. Westerly, RI, died peacefully on Saturday July 24, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael H. Lynch, Jr.
Born in Pawcatuck, CT on August 22, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret (Walker) Billings.
Barbara was a competitive baton twirler and had taught baton twirling for many years in Westerly and surrounding communities. Throughout the years she and her students could always be seen marching and twirling in the local Parades.
Barbara was well known for her homemade peanut brittle.
She loved golfing, bowling, playing shuffleboard and a good game of pitch at the Westerly Yacht where she was a life member. She also enjoyed boating alongside her late husband Mike and spent many enjoyable times at Napatree Point.
Barbara will be sadly missed by her children; Michael T. Lynch and his wife Juliana of Hope Valley and Betty Pruitt and her husband Dave, of Pawcatuck, CT, six grandchildren; Mark Lynch, Sarah Lynch, Evan Lynch, Jason Hartley and his partner Kerrie, Erin Tirrell her husband James and Ryan Horne, two great-grandchildren; Kaylee Tirrell and Jacob Tirrell. She was the sister of the late Marjorie Sylvia and Agnes B. Lamb. She also leave several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service and burial will be private.
The Lynch family will be having a celebration of Barbara’s life at a future date at Westerly Yacht Club.
