Becky J. Morrone

Becky J. (Delano) Morrone, 68, of Walton St. Westerly, RI died peacefully on October 28, 2018 at her home. She was the beloved wife of William “Bill” Morrone.
Born in Brattleboro, VT, on December 28, 1949 she was the daughter of the late Robert and Phyllis (Higgins) Delano.
Mrs. Morrone was an Elementary School Teacher in the Westerly Public Schools for 29 years teaching first and fourth grades at the former High St. School and retiring from Tower St. School in 2000.
She received her teaching degree from Willimantic State Teachers College now Eastern Connecticut State University and went on to receive her Master’s in Education from Rhode Island College.
Becky was an active member of the United Congregational Church of Westerly, where she served on numerous boards and committees over the years. She enjoyed doing crafts and making cards and was an avid reader.
Besides her loving and devoted husband of 46 years she will be sadly missed by her son; Robert Vero Morrone of Westerly. She also leaves her brothers; Robert and his wife Laura Delano of Venice, FL, Randy and his wife Bonnie of Litchfield, NH, Duff and his wife Linda of Hinsdale, NH and her sister; Jackie Delano of Hinsdale, NH. She also leaves two sister-in –laws; Lois Delano of Baltimore, MD and Cindy Moffitt of FL and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two brothers; Timothy Delano and Kenneth Delano.
The Morrone family will greet relatives and friends from 4-7 PM on Friday November 2, 2018 at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St. Westerly, and RI.
A Celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the United Congregational Church of Westerly, 9 Castle Hill Road Pawcatuck, CT. Burial will be private in St. Michael Cemetery.
