Bernhard Peter Hoddersen

Bernhard P. (Bernie) Hoddersen, 81, of North Stonington, CT, passed peacefully on August 10, 2021 at the Westerly Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Catherine M. (Hay) Hoddersen, sadly she passed away on December 15, 2019, after 53 years of marriage.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, on April 3, 1940, he was the son of the late Harry and Muriel (Jordan) Hoddersen.

Bernhard served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Bernie had been employed as a Graphic Illustrator for over 30 years as the Underwater Sound Lab before his retiring. He was a former member of the Seaside Beach Club where he enjoyed putting on pig roasts for family and friends. In his younger years, he also enjoyed bowling in several leagues and playing bridge with his late wife Catherine.

Leaves behind his 4 children.

Peter Hoddersen and his wife Esther of Jacksonville, FL, Susan Hoddersen of Boca Raton, FL, Laura Jones and her husband Paul of N. Stonington, CT and Michael Hoddersen and his wife Claudia of Pawcatuck, CT; his grandchildren Lea Hoddersen, Lynn Hoddersen, Samuel Hoddersen, Margret Celico, Evan Jones, Seth Jones, Lukas Jones, Julia Hoddersen and John Hoddersen. He also leaves one great-grandchild. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Gayle Hoddersen.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
