Betsy Baker Jewell

Betsy Bourne Baker Jewell, 96, of Charlestown, RI, died peacefully Friday March 17, 2023. She was a loving wonderful mother, grandmother, greatma (GiGi), and special aunt to many nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her daughter and son in law, Barbara and John Haymond of AZ, her daughter and son in law Deborah and Stacey Hatfield of CT and her daughter in law Penny Muncaster Jewell of TX. She also leaves her grandchildren Darren Mattson and Sheri, Daniel and Kristy Mattson, Emily and Ryan Fear, Brad Haymond, and Brooke and Chris Carroll. Also, her great grandchildren, Vivienne, Grant, Evan, Finley and Calli.
Betsy was an active volunteer, winning an award with the state of RI for her countless hours at Johnny Cake, Adult daycare, and visiting shut-ins for the church. She was a true “Baker” baking cookies and breads for family and friends. When she wasn’t baking, she was out on her beloved pond clamming or crabbing.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Betsy’s memory to Dunn’s Corner presbyterian Church.
A celebration of life will be held this summer, date to be determined. For information on date and time, Dunn’s Corner Presbyterian Church will have that information sometime after June 1st.
