Catherine H. Sirianni

Catherine H. (Heim) Sirianni, 89, passed away surrounded by the love of her five children, Frank, Beth, Steve, David and Carol, on July 10th, 2021 at Westerly Hospital, in Westerly, Rhode Island. She was the wife of the late Norman Sirianni. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 2, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Aloysius and Julia (Kappler) Heim.

Catherine’s early life was in Pittsburgh, PA where she worked at the Duquesne Light Company as a secretary, she married Norm in 1955 and they moved to Teaneck, New Jersey, where she raised five children and was a wonderful homemaker. She had many friends and enjoyed playing tennis and golf. She moved to Elburn, Illinois in 1981, where she worked for JVC Electronics as a receptionist and then the Human Touch, a lovely housewares shop. She made many new friends, traveled extensively with Norm, began taking art classes and became a grandmother to eight grandchildren. Catherine and Norm moved into the City of Chicago in 2007, where they enjoyed the city life, exploring new restaurants, often taking in the theatre and visiting museums. After Norm’s passing in 2013, she moved to Rhode Island, where she spent the last eight years of her life. She enjoyed all of the activities that her living facility provided: art, singing, dancing, exercise and weekly cocktails & conversations. Catherine wintered in Delray Beach, Florida for thirty years, where she so enjoyed her family & friends, played golf and took long walks on the beach. The beach was her “happy place”. She will be remembered for always being patient, kind, cheerful, loving to sing and finding beauty in nature.

Catherine was predeceased in death by her parents, Aloysius and Julia (Kappler) Heim and her siblings, Rita (Heim) Cully, Joseph Heim . She is survived by her five children: Frank Sirianni and his wife Linda of Geneva, IL; Beth (Sirianni) Paretta and her husband Fred of Westerly, RI; Steve Sirianni and his wife Dawn of Downers Grove, IL; David Sirianni and his wife Donna of Maplewood, NJ & Westerly, RI; and Carol (Sirianni) Nesci and her husband Mark of Chicago, IL. Catherine leaves behind eight beloved grandchildren: Tony Sirianni, Stephanie (Paretta) Wilson, Olivia Sirianni, Owen Sirianni, Hailey Nesci, Max Sirianni, Catherine (Kate) Sirianni and Matthew Nesci; her siblings: Ruth (Heim) Huber; Regis Heim; Thomas Heim and Jeannie (Heim) Brighton; and many nieces and nephews.
