Christopher Robert Long, 64 of Westerly, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at his home. He was the husband of Rose Mary (Biggs) Long. Born in Meriden, CT on May 14, 1956, he was the son of the late Dr. Robert Pershing and Mary Virginia (Mills) Long.

Chris grew up in Berlin, CT and graduated from Berlin High School in 1974 where his father was the principal for over 25 years. He went on to attend Central Connecticut State University. Chris was employed as a tinsmith at The Stanley Works in New Britain for several years, though currently retired. He enjoyed volunteering and helping out in the community as a lighting director for plays performed by The Producing Guild in Hartford, CT for over 10 years, coached Berlin Youth Soccer for several years and also worked in the sound booth at Christian Life Church, Kensington, CT. His greatest accomplishment was raising, watching, and helping his 6 children grow, and he would like for all to cherish their good memories with him.

He leaves behind his children Joshua Long of Stratford, CT, Dr. Andrew Long (Holly) of Baton Rouge, LA, Meagan MacDonald (Caleb) of East Hampton, CT, David Long (Torrie) of Wallingford, CT, Katelyn Long (Chris Monteleone) of Morgantown, WV, Zach Long of Clinton, CT; 4 grandchildren Cody, Lily, Judah Long and Ezekiel MacDonald; 8 step-children including Cinnamon Cawthra of Westerly, RI and Leslie Anderson of Cadiz, KY and many step-grandchildren; 2 brothers Michael Long (Elizabeth) of Essex, CT and Timothy Long (Kristen), Berlin, CT; 2 nieces, 3 nephews and several cousins.

A Christian Memorial service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 2:00pm at Bethel Assembly of God Church located at 246 Boston Street, Guilford, CT 06437.
