Dawn Marie Lindroos

Dawn M. (Steelman) Lindroos was born on July 16, 1952 in Bar Harbor, Maine to Delores A. (Dunn) and Courtland Steelman. Dawn and her parents soon returned to Block Island where she attended school.

Later in life Dawn became the animal control officer and a constable for the Town of New Shoreham. Dawn eventually moved off Island and raised her children in Westerly.

She became one of the first female private investigators in RI, while also working at United Nuclear as a security guard.

Dawn had many interests from advocating for teachers to receive fair wages, to being a published author, and enjoying a gathering of friends.
On January 15, 2022 Dawn departed on her greatest journey yet to be with her ancestors, she was surrounded by her loved ones.

Dawn left behind her two daughters, Athenee Dahlgren-Lindroos, Amber White, and her son Josiah Dodge, all of Westerly. As well as 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers that you make a donation to a charity for those wounded in service, or an animal rescue foundation as those were things Dawn strongly believed in.

Funeral services will be held privately by the family.
