Diane S. Marsh

Diane Susan Perrone Marsh passed away on March 10, 2018, after a short illness, surrounded by her family,.

She was born in Westerly on January 14, 1955 and graduated from the Prout School, Class of 1973. She attended the University of Rhode Island and later completed the Post Graduate Program in Culinary Arts at Grasso Technical High School.

Her professional career was spent with the State of Connecticut helping people as a member of the Homeless Outreach Team at the former Norwich State Hospital. After her retirement from state service she began a second career as a successful pastry chef specializing in custom designed cakes for all occasions as well as serving as a mentor at Westerly Middle School. Diane was also a partner in Lor Dee’s, a seasonal restaurant, located in The Casino at Groton Long Point.

She enjoyed working in her flower garden but her greatest joy was her extended family. A vibrant, generous, and gracious host, she would entertain at the drop of a hat, particularly if her guests were her many grandchildren.

Diane was united in marriage to Charles Marsh, who survives her, on September 1, 1996.
She was predeceased by her father Anthony Perrone, Sr., and mother Celina ‘Susie” Perrone.

She leaves behind brother Anthony Perrone, Jr., his wife Lori, and niece Gabriella, of Groton Long Point, Connecticut; sisters Angela Collins and husband Joe, and Suzanne Perrone of Westerly. Also, sons Avery Marsh, wife Katie and granddaughters Laelia and Lexi; Charles Marsh, Jr., and wife Kathy and granddaughter Samantha as well as daughter Noelle Guzman and Barry Fortin and grandchildren Carlos, Chloe, and Lydia Guzman.

In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to The Johnny Cake Center, 23 Industrial Drive Westerly, RI 02891 and the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center, 27 Chase Street Pawcatuck, CT 06379.

Calling hours will be from 4PM to 7PM on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home 121 Main St, Westerly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11AM Saturday March 17 at the Central Baptist Church 16 Elm St, Westerly.
