Doris B. Rhodes

Doris (Boocock) Rhodes, 98, lifelong resident of Bradford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Westerly Health Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles T. Rhodes, Jr. She was born in Bradford, RI to the late Maurice and Emma (Russell) Boocock on December 29, 1922.

She graduated from the Westerly High School with the class of 1940 and worked for many years in the offices of the Bradford Dyeing Association. She worked for 13 years as a clerical worker with the Washington County Community Mental Health Clinic, retiring in 1987.

She had many hobbies including sewing, knitting, crocheting and cooking.

Mrs. Rhodes was a long time active member of the Niantic Baptist Church in Bradford.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in law Charles T. Rhodes, III and Patricia DeVoe Rhodes and Tyrel E. Rhodes, Sr. and Lynn Leivers Rhodes. She was preceded in death by her son Mark J. Rhodes.

She was a devoted grandmother to her six grandchildren Carrie L. Rhodes, Tara L. Rhodes, Laura A. Rhodes, Christopher T. Rhodes, Matthew C. Rhodes and Tyrel “Ted” E. Rhodes, Jr. She also has eleven great-grandchildren. She has one special niece Mary Ellen Terranova and several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
