Dorothy M. Hall

Dorothy (Marra) Hall, 88, of Westerly, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Westerly Health Center.  She was the loving wife of the late Charles J. Hall.  Born in Hopkinton on July 20, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Lebro and Viola (Hoxie) Marra. 
 
An active member of the Westerly Ecclesia Bible Students, Dorothy was committed to her faith and family throughout her life.  She was often found in the kitchen pouring over recipe books and preparing food for her family and friends. While the dining room table was the center of many cherished memories, Dorothy was most famous for her cookies, which she always kept in special tins ready for all visitors to enjoy. 
 
Dorothy also enjoyed antiquing and spent years amassing an assortment of strawberry themed collectables. She took great joy in listening to music and tending to her flower gardens. She loved animals and delighted in watching the outdoor wildlife from her dining room window, especially the birds. She was a kind, selfless, and generous person and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
 
She leaves her son Roger Hall and his wife Lana of Monterey, CA; her daughter Debra (Hall) DiGangi and her husband John of Charlton, MA; her brother Raymond Marra and his wife Dorothy of Westerly; and her sister Linda Marra of Westerly. She also leaves 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews. 
 
Calling hours will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main Street, Westerly.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the funeral home followed by burial at River Bend Cemetery in Westerly.
