Elizabeth Cecelia Jacoinski

An angel on earth, Elizabeth “Celia” Jacoinski, 85, passed away peacefully at home on March 26th. Born in Westerly, on January 13, 1938 to the late Joseph and Julia (McMahon) Leone. She was the beloved wife of Lawrence A. Jacoinski, Sr. for 39 years.

Celia was a hero to many as she always thought of others rather than herself.

She graduated from Stonington High School in 1955 and was a star athlete in basketball. She was also a cheerleader.

In her early years she enjoyed camping, hiking and cross country skiing. She was an avid UConn Women’s Husky fan and also The Boston Red Sox.

She worked as a repair parts specialist at Harris Graphics and later became a real estate agent. She also worked as a medical billing and consultant for many years.

Besides her husband Lawrence she leaves behind her son Michael (Laurie) Macione, her daughter Lori McGrath, a step-son Larry Jacoinski (Rebecca), grandchildren Keith, Zachary, Alex, and Michael, her siblings Mary Patton, Ann Smith, Paul Leone, Kathy Wood and several nieces and nephews. Celia was predeceased by her siblings Margaret “Peggy” Trahan, Patricia Stryker, and John Leone.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31st at St. Michael’s Church, Pawcatuck, CT at 10am. Burial will follow.
