Florence Virginia Texter

Florence Virginia Texter, 80, of Westerly, passed away on August 23, 2021 when the lord called her home.  Born in Westerly, Rhode Island on June 3, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Gelato Vacca and Marguerite Vacca.

Florence worked at Mystic Color lab 18 years prior to retirement. 

Her favorite hobby was crocheting, collecting black cat memorabilia in memory of her black cats. She loved going to see her favorite band play. Had a passion for Elvis.  

She loved reading her bible and devotions and sharing "JOY", Jesus others, yourself. Pennsylvania was her favorite trip to see her daughter and grandsons and great grandchildren. She also volunteered for the Watsontown Christian Academy annual yard sale in Pennsylvania.  The Bloomsburg PA State Fair was one of her favorite events.

She leaves her children Eugene C Texter III, Teresa M Boatman, Mark A Texter and Wife Kerri Texter; her grandchildren Joshua J. Boatman and wife Gianna Boatman ,Tyler J. Boatman; great-grandchildren John C. Boatman, Wesley F. Boatman and Parker D. Boatman; several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by daughter Elizabeth A. Bennett, son in law George A. Bennett, son in law John T. Boatman and life-long friend Joseph Argenta, along with aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at First Seventh Day Baptist Church of Hopkinton, 8 Church Street, Ashaway, RI 02804 on September 18, 2021 at 3:00.
