Gordon K. Harvey

Gordon K. Harvey, 88, of Bradford, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Westerly Hospital. He was the husband of the late Frances (Johnson) Harvey and after her passing he was the husband of Marjorie Harvey who also predeceased him. Born November 1, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Freda (Holland) Harvey.

Gordon served his country proudly in the US Army during WWII. After the Army, he worked as a lagger for Electric Boat for over 40 years until his retirement. Gordon really enjoyed spending time at home working on his puzzle books, reading the daily newspapers and watching his favorite TV show Wheel of Fortune with Ragamuffin his cat and companion right there by his side. For many years, Sunday drives were also a favorite family outing. But in recent years, his time spent with his daughter Diane was what he cherished the most. Nearly every day, she made sure to stop by and help him with anything he needed and he was blessed to have her. He was a gentle soul and a down to earth good man who loved his family above all else. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him.

He leaves his daughter Diane Antonelli and her husband Tom, grandchildren Tiffany, George, Ciji, Rick and Emily, his great-grandchildren David, Celia, Caleb, Michael and Cashman, his sister Janice Mullaney and his sister-in-law Rita Harvey, his step-great-grandson Joe who was raised by him and his wife Marjorie as their own, and several step-children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Michael Harvey and his siblings Freda Wanagel, Walter Harvey, Irene Barbara Wall, Ruth Ruddock and Charles Harvey.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Buckler- Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main Street, Westerly. Funeral services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
