Harriet K. Schilke

Harriet K. (King) Schilke, 97, died peacefully on November 29, 2018 at the Westerly Hospital.
Born in New London, CT on April 1, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Grover C. and Altana (Jagger) King.
Mrs. Schilke had been employed at the George C. Moore Co, for many years before retiring
Harriet was active in several civic organizations she was past president of the former High Street School PTA, Past Worthy Advisor and Past Mother Adviser of Westerly Assembly #7 Order of the Rainbow for Girls, Worthy Matron of the Deborah Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in 1993 and Past Advisor of Westerly Rainbow Alumni. She was a longtime volunteer of the Westerly Chapter of the American Red Cross and was one of the oldest members of the Central Baptist Church and a member of the church Friendship Circle.
She will be sadly missed by her children; Edward K. Schilke (Nancy) of Westely, RI, Sandra Christina of Westerly, RI and Linda M. Bruno of Pawcatuck, CT. She also leaves her daughter-in-law Maria Schilke of Westerly, RI and 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was predeceased by her son Robert C. Schilke, her sister Marylouise Swan and 3 son-in-laws; Edward Chiaradio, Rick Bruno and John Christina. She was also predeceased by her former husband Reinhold E. Schilke.
The Schilke family will great relatives and friends on Sunday from 2-5 PM at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St. Westerly, RI. Funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the Central Baptist Church, 16 Elm. St. Westerly, RI.
