Family and friends of John, I am so sad to hear that John has left us. I worked with John for many years at Electric Boat. He was a wonderful coworker and friend. John and I also played golf together on several occasions back when. I will always have great memories of the times, conversations, and laughs we had.

Mary Beth & family,
I had the pleasure of working with John (aka Johnny Mack) at RCM Technologies and was stunned and saddened at the news of his passing. He was a valuable asset and beyond that, an all around nice guy. His presence will be missed both personally and professionally. Kind condolences to all.

Mary Beth & family:
When my father passed, many years ago, a friend sent the following words to me. I keep them posted by my desk. I hope that you can take the same peace and comfort from them that I do.

IN MEMORIUM

In countless gentle, kindly ways he lived a sermon all his days. Believing in the folk he knew and making friends his lifetime through
Enjoying life, its works and fun, he sought the best in everyone. Living his faith from day to day, he sowed good seed along the way.
Now death has set his spirit free in fields of immortality, to claim a task of greater worth than any he had known on earth.

MISS ME BUT LET ME GO

When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room. Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not for long and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared. Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take. And each must go alone. It's all a part of the Master's plan, a step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart, go to the friends we know, and bury your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss me, but let me go.

THE FINAL PATROL
He was a submariner, America’s best.
He proudly wore dolphins upon his brave chest.
With the sound of the klaxon and the order to dive,
He went deep beneath the ocean to keep peace alive.
As the Nation’s sentinel in Poseidon’s domain,
His vigil he stood and never complained.
When the klaxon sounded for his very last dive,
He slid silently under to be at God’s side.
He will be missed by his loved ones, but his shipmates know,
He now serves in God’s Navy on his Final Patrol.

I am sorry to hear of John's passing and wish to extend my condolences to the MacKenzie family. John and I shared many a laugh working together at Electric Boat for 20 years. I remember the happiness that John had while coaching our D403 basketball team in the Electric Boat League. He even managed to get into a game once in awhile.
