Kaliope "Kay" (Lanides) Tsouris

Kaliope “Kay” (Lanides) Tsouris, 90 yrs old of Westerly, RI died peacefully on Thursday, June 22, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late George L. Tsouris.
Born in Boston, MA on February 1, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Theoni (Georgeou) Lanides.

Kay along with her late husband owned and operated the former Mayflower Tea Room Restaurant in downtown Westerly for many years before retiring. She was proud of her Greek heritage and was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Norwich, CT.

She will be sadly missed by her two children; Thomas Tsouris and his wife Mary of Providence, RI and Helen (Tsouris) Synodi and her husband Savas of Westerly, RI. She also leaves her sister; Anastasia Milner of Winter Garden, FL as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Leonidas “Leo” Tsouris and an infant daughter.

The Tsouris family will greet relatives and friends on Monday June 26, 2017 from 5-8 PM at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St. Westerly, RI. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. Sophia Hellenic Orthodox Church, 200 Hempstead St., New London, CT, 06320. Burial will follow in River Bend Cemetery, Westerly, RI.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Kay’s memory may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 247 Washington St, Norwich, CT 06360.
