Karen Sue Johnston

Karen Harvey Johnston 61, of Bradford, RI passed away on January 12,2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with Cancer. Born in Wakefield, RI on December 17, 1960 to Charles and Nancy Harvey. She was the loving wife of Steve Johnston and just celebrated their 43rd Wedding Anniversary.

  Karen was employed at Chariho School as a custodian for over twenty years. Karen was the foundation of our families racing for the past forty-five years. She raced as well winning many races and a championship. Karen enjoyed anything that involved spending time with the love of her life Steve and her family. Karen also was nana to all the children at Chariho High School that needed someone to talk to she loved all her school kids. 

    Karen was predecease by her parents Charles and Nancy Harvey, Brother Buddy Harvey, Nephew Brent Sheldon and Mother-In-Law Pheobe Gaffney.

Besides her Husband Steve she leaves her Daughter Tina Leonard , Son-In-Law William Leonard , Adopted Daughter by heart Rosie Campell (Roger), Granddaughter Ashley Johnson (Joey Johnson), Grandson Stephen Leonard (Mariah), Great Grandson`s Hunter and Andrew as well as her loving cat Duke.
Her Siblings Becky Sheldon, Linda Essex (Steve), Jeff Harvey (Liz) John Harvey (Colleen), Steve Harvey ( Chris) , Many nieces and Nephews and Special friends Cherri, Denise, Judy, Agnus, Kim, Liz, Kathy, and Cindy.

Our family would like to give special Thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Dubs for all their support, As well as all that donated during Karens Cancer Journey. 

Karen wanted to Thank everyone at Chariho School District that donated PTO time, Food and support.
Karen`s wishes were to have no services as she wanted everyone to remember her kind smile and her loving soul. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date with nicer weather.
