Louise (Genese) Norcia, 97, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Royal Westerly Nursing Home. She was born on November 13, 1919, daughter of the late Antonio and Mary (Gencarella) Genese. Louise grew up on Oak Street in Westerly and graduated from Westerly High School. She married Albert Norcia, who predeceased her in 1999, after 53 years of marriage.

She was predeceased by her brother, Frank Genese.

Louise was a terrific cook and the happiest when in her kitchen making her delicious meals for the family gatherings, especially her famous meatballs. Many times you could hear her singing or listening to music while doing what she loved. She was a role model to all and her deep love and support for family and friends will always be remembered.

She also leaves behind six Great-Grandchildren, who always brought joy into her life; Nora, Molly, and Kate Niedbala, Lucas and Mason Strelczuk, and Nikko Norcia, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family extends their deepest appreciation to Tina Yirenkyi, her caregiver while at home, for all the laughs, love, and care she showered upon "Grandma". The family also extends their sincerest gratitude to the wonderful staff at Royal Westerly Nursing Home for their daily care, support, and love provided to "Grandma" for the past three years.
