Marjorie P. Morgan

Marjorie Ann (Preissner) Morgan passed away at her home on March 23, 2018 surrounded by her family. Marge was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Cyrus N. Morgan. Born in Hartford, CT on October 4, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Herbert A. Preissner and Florence (Beebe) Preissner. She was a graduate of Bulkeley High School and attended Mary Washington College.
Marge started summering in Misquamicut in 1930 and moved to Westerly in 1948 when she married Cy. Marge loved her shoreline community and served it well. She was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church, the Board of The Westerly Hospital Auxiliary, a Westerly Hospital Volunteer, and a Boy Scout and Girl Scout Leader. Marge was also a member of the Watch Hill Yacht Club.
Marge will be missed by her son and his wife, Stephen D. and Ruth Morgan of Hopkinton; her daughters and their husbands, Cynthia M. and Adam Jilling of Portsmouth, and Judith M. and Donald Cherenzia of Hopkinton; seven grandchildren, Cyrus I. Morgan (Monique), Ashley E. Morgan (Ryan), Michael S. Jilling, Adam M. Jilling, Marissa C. Quinlan (Jeffrey), Jenna M. Cherenzia, and Katie A. Cherenzia; five great-grandchildren, Ella, Cyrus, Hudson, Willow, and Huckleberry. She will also be missed by her two nieces, Kathy Hoar and Leslie Preissner. Her brother, Herbert A. Preissner, Jr. predeceased her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 12 noon at Christ Episcopal Church, 7 Elm St., Westerly, RI. Donations in memory of Marge may be made to The Westerly Public Library, 44 Broad St. Westerly, RI 02891, or The Ocean Community YMCA, 95 High St., Westerly, RI 02891.
