Mark Cabigting, 74, of Westerly, passed away at home on Thanksgiving, November 24, 2022. He is the devoted husband of 34 years to the loving, Jeannie M. Gingerella-Cabigting. Born in New London, CT on May 23, 1948 he was the son of the late Mary Brown and Luminoso Cabigting.
Mark had an incredible sense of humor. He could light up an entire room with just one joke. He was quick witted and intelligent and education was of the utmost importance to him. Mark was frequently reading and sought out ways to continue to learn. His humor and quiet faith in God carried him through the toughest times of his life.
Mark is a man of many nicknames including, but not limited to Daddly, Bup, Neno, Pampers, Chico, Renegade, and Butchy. Mark was a mechanic by trade and worked for the Exeter USPS for many years. In the early 90s, Mark owned and operated his business, CJ's 4x4, building Jeeps from the ground up. Mark loved fishing, hunting, music, playing guitar and several instruments, motorcycles and martial arts. He loved to cook and it showed. But most of all, he loved his family.
He leaves his children, Kathrynn Noel Burns (William E. Burns and their five children), Robin Frances Heineman Brayson (Michael Brayson and their five children), Tabitha Trina Cabigting Lee (John C. Lee and their four children) and Tina L. Cabigting (and her five children) as well as his two sons by marriage; Shawn Miannay (Nordiana Miannay and three children) and Kristopher Miannay (and his two children). He was predeceased by his daughter, Tamiko Ceferina Cabigting.
Mark's heart was full of love for his very large family - his adoring wife, 7 children, 24 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, sisters and brother. The joy of his life was watching these children grow and make a huge mess of his yard, his home, his Jeep, his truck and listening to them squeal with laughter at his pranks and endless jokes. Anyone within earshot of his famous story-telling would be left rolling on the floor with laughter.
Mark's life is an example of love, faith in God, and perseverance. He will forever be remembered and every memory is filled with smiles and laughter.
A mass will be held for Mark at 11am on Tuesday, December 6 at Our Lady of Victory Church in Ashaway, RI.
