Mary K. Brown

Mary (King) Brown, 86, of Pawcatuck, CT passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Saturday, April 28, 2018. She married the love of her life, Leonard J. Brown, Sr. on June 7, 1952 and together they shared 65 years of marriage. Born in Stonington, CT on June 1, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Jeal and Mae (Butler) King.

Mary was a hardworking and dedicated employee for Plax as an Assembler and also had enjoyed her work as a cook for Stonington High School. She was active in her faith as a member of the Daughters of Isabella and also spent her free time knitting and embroidering. She was a quiet woman who cherished the time that she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the lights of her life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Besides her husband Leonard, she leaves her children Leonard Brown, Jr. (Martha), Kim Crocker (Robert), Doreen Brown (Tom), Kevin Brown (Robin) and Michele Postovoit (Paul); along with her 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Marlene (King) Burley and brother Joseph King.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 11:00a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly. Burial will follow the mass at River Bend Cemetery, Westerly. Family and friends are invited to gather for calling hours the morning of the funeral from 9:30a.m. to 10:30a.m. at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St. Westerly, RI and then follow in procession for the mass.
