Maurice E. “Bud” Main, 91, of Stonington, beloved husband of Constance “Tina” (Rustici) Main passed away to be with God in Heaven on Monday, May 1, 2018 at his home. He was born in Stonington on November 22, 1926, the son of the late Maurice Sr. and Frances Elizabeth Main. Prior to his retirement Bud worked for Pfizer Inc. as a Foreman for 36 years. Bud was a lifetime cattleman and farmer on his beloved family farm; Walnut Hill in Stonington. Bud expressed his day to day life experiences through his original poetry throughout the years. Family gatherings included many lively games of Pitch with him not only challenging but winning games shared with his children, grandchildren and friends. He was an avid softball player in his younger years and continued to follow the Red Sox throughout his life.

In addition to his wife of over 70 years, he is also survived by their five children; Sandra Main and husband Anthony Vignone of Florida, Robert and wife Kathleen Main of Stonington, Kenneth Main and fiancée Donna Starling of Stonington, Debra Dwyer and fiancé David Bunn of Brooklyn, CT, and Donna Jones of Westerly. Bud is also survived by five grandchildren; Jessica Linicus and husband David, Christopher Dwyer and wife Andrea, Sarah Gasparre and husband Gene, Rachael Jones, Kevin Dwyer and wife Alison, as well as 7 great grandchildren; Conner Dwyer, Colin Dwyer, Lila Dwyer, Nathan Linicus, Austen Linicus, Jake Linicus and Mason Gasparre. Bud will be greatly missed by his four legged faithful pal and constant companion; Odie. Bud was predeceased by his brother Charles “Chuck” Main and sister Norma Dowlen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bud’s memory may be made to Stonington Volunteer Ambulance or Pawcatuck Little League.

Graveside services will be held at Union Cemetery, Route 49, North Stonington, CT at 9:30a.m.Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St. Westerly, RI 02891 is assisting the family with arrangements.
