Michael J. Algieri

Michael J. “Mike” Algieri, 83, of Westerly, RI and West Palm Beach, FL, died peacefully at his home in Westerly surrounded by his loving family on Saturday March 5, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Patricia “Patsy” (Morrone) Algieri, who sadly passed away on December 18, 2011. Mike was also predeceased by his sister Mary Lou.

Mike was born in Westerly, RI on December 11, 1938 and was the son of the late Joseph and Susan (Celico) Algieri.

Mike was the co-owner of Morrone Electric, Inc. of Westerly. He held licenses as a master electrician, master plumber, master pipe fitter and master refrigeration specialist. He enjoyed working on antique cars and was a member of the Model A Ford Club of America for over twenty-five years. Mike wintered in West Palm Beach where he enjoyed an active social life of bocce, dancing, shuffleboard, bingo, card playing and many other activities.

As a loving father, he will be sadly missed by his daughters Mary-Kay Patten (David) and Lori-Beth Guelcher (John). Mike has four grandchildren Kayla Patten, Jack Patten, Katie Guelcher and Kristen Guelcher. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. He leaves his sister, Joanne (Algieri) Kudej and his devoted companion of four years, Mary Tufts of West Palm Beach, FL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday March 11, 2022 at Our Lady of Victory, 169 Main St. Ashaway, RI 02804. Burial will follow in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly, RI. Calling hours will be private.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St. Westerly, RI.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Victory Church in Ashaway.
