Richard Alton Perry, Sr, 71, of North Stonington, passed away on September 4, 2021. Born in Westerly, Rhode Island on February 12, 1950, he was the son of the late Russell Norman Perry and Shirley Mae (Main) Perry.
Richard owned his own business where he worked doing home repair and landscaping. He was the happiest when he was fixing or doing things with his hands. When his health required him to step away from his business, he could be found out planting in his garden and spending time with his beloved dog and companion Chippy. In addition to gardening Richard enjoyed baking and cooking sharing his creations with his family and friends.
He leaves his five sons: Richard (Heather), Cliff (Jaime), Joe, Jeremy and Justin; his eight grandchildren: Heather (Tommy), Chevy, Kyle (Haley), Stephanie, Jennifer, Clayton, Colton and Braxton; his siblings: Russell (Sue), Roger (Wendy), Shirell (Jimmy); and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson’s Alton and Ashton.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 19th from 3-4pm at Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St. Westerly RI, followed by a 4pm service. Burial will be private.
