Stanley Fritz Johnson Jr., 65, died in a fire in his Charlestown RI family home on Saturday, May 28, 2022. He was the loving husband of Laura (Voorhis) Johnson who survives him and with whom he shared 32 years of marriage.

Fritz was born in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, on September 11, 1956 and was the son of the late Rev. Stanley Fritz and Eleanore (Harbich) Johnson Sr. Fritz was raised in Massachusetts and graduated from Falmouth High School. He attended both the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Boston Architectural College.

A longtime resident of Charlestown, RI, Stanley was a licensed real estate broker and commercial property manager and investor. Fritz led his life with passion, love and zest. He was a man of many talents and interests. A lifelong rock music supporter, he was a skilled guitarist and in his youth was the singer, songwriter and lead guitarist of the bands Fighter and Code Red. An audiophile enthusiast, he founded Fritztronics for the manufacture of electron tubes.

He enjoyed collecting and trading musical instruments, sports cars, books and art objects. Fritz took pride in his Swedish heritage and his family and he cherished the years he and Laura spent raising their two daughters.

He loved nature, animals and his little dog, Ollie. In addition to his wife Laura, Fritz is survived by his daughters, Sophia Johnson of Providence, RI and Zoe Johnson of New York, NY; as well as three sisters, Barbara Johnson Butts of Milton, MA, Lorraine Johnson of Los Angeles, CA, and Elizabeth Johnson of West Warwick, RI; and a nephew, Eric Butts of Boston, MA.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him leaving a large hole in our lives.

Funeral services will be privately held for the immediate family.
