Walter J. Sicard, 79, of Jefferson Ave., New London, CT, died peacefully, on July 27, 2018.
Born in New Haven, CT, on August 28, 1938, he was the son of the late Joseph and Florence (Barr) Sicard.
Walter was employed by the Laborers Union and worked at Pfizer in Groton, CT, for many years before retiring.
He was active in the Stonington Recreation and Stoning Community Center and played on the Pfizer Baseball League. Walt was a graduate of Stonington High School where he was a standout athlete on the Track and Field Team and Baseball Team.
He leaves his four children; Gary Sicard of Westerly, James Sicard of Groton, CT, David Sicard of Pawcatuck, CT and Cathy Avery of Orlando, FL. He also leaves 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Calling hours will be Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m., at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St., Westerly, R.I. Funeral service and burial will be private.
