William Edward Burrell

William “Billy” Burrell, 51, of Fall River, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 29, 2018. Born in Westerly, Rhode Island on April 16, 1966, he was the son of Faith E. (Brown) Burrell and the late Anthony Broccolo.

Mr. Burrell played pee wee football and little league baseball, and was a state champion and standout in track and field while at Chariho High School, from where he graduated in 1984. Billy was a fun loving, openhearted person who was loved by all who met him. He was a proud member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe of Rhode Island, a Westerly Reserve Police Officer and later, a Rhode Island State Marshall.

Besides his mother, William leaves behind his son Zach Burrell, and daughter-in-law Victoria Burrell; two step-daughters, Britney Mitchell and Patrice Mitchell; grandchildren, Zach Burrell, Jr., Zayden Burrell, Sa’rah Lee and Janaya Mitchell; sisters, Tammy Thomas and Terri Burrell; brothers, Raymond E. Brown, Ian Burrell and Speedi Burrell; nephews, Brian Burrell, Thomas Northup and Ridge Burrell; nieces, Tayla Northup, Andrea Burrell and Sequoyah Burrell. He was predeceased by his nephew, Broc Brown. William also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be a gathering to remember and celebrate William’s life on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 11:00a.m to 1:00p.m. at Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main Street, Westerly, RI. A service will immediately follow the calling hours at 1:00p.m at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
