William G. McLaughlin

William G. McLaughlin, 80, of Westerly, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London, CT. He was the husband of Jean (Skidgel) McLaughlin and together they had celebrated 61 years of marriage. Born in Caribou, Maine on February 5, 1937, he was the son of the late Fred and Annie (Fournier) McLaughlin.

William was the owner of Narragansett Auto Body and enjoyed working on his cars. He was a smart man and good with his hands. In his free time, he spent time hunting deer along with fishing on his boat. Most importantly, he loved his family especially spending his time with his great-grandchildren who were the lights of his life. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Besides his loving wife, he leaves his granddaughter Rachel (McLaughlin) Freemer and her wife Karie of Westerly; 4 great-grandchildren Tiffany, Scott, Giovanni and Rosaria along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his children William P. McLaughlin, Scott L. McLaughlin and Laura L. McLaughlin along with his brother Phillip McLaughlin.

Family and friends are welcome to gather for calling hours on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.at Buckler- Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main Street, Westerly, RI 02891. All other services are private.
