Anthony J. Bavasso

Anthony J. Bavasso, 90, of Spencer Dr. Westerly, RI died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at his home.

Born in Westerly, RI, on March 1, 1933, he was the son of the late Angelo and Nellie (Vallie) Bavasso.

Known as “Tony B”, he was employed at Shetucket Plumbing Supply in Westerly, RI, before his retirement. An avid New York Mets, horse racing, and boxing fan, he served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

Mr. Bavasso will be sadly missed by his four sons, Rich A. Bavasso (Susan) of Seabrook, SC, Michael H. Bavasso (Diana) Middletown, CT, Scott A. Bavasso and Anthony J. Bavasso both of Westerly, RI. He was the loving grandfather of Abigail, John, Madison, Alyssa, Mia, Julia, Brenton and Makayla, and great grandfather of Ryan and Hayden. He also leaves his brother Ralph Bavasso (Gertrude) and his sister Irene Miceli. He was predeceased by his sister Teresa Gingerella.

The Bavasso family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 4-7:00 PM at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St. Westerly, RI. A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Wednesday May 17, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Clark St. Westerly, RI.
