Brian John O'Hare

Brian John O’Hare, age 82, of Gloversville, NY passed away with his children at his bedside on Sunday, January 15, 2023. Brian was born March 31, 1940, the son of John and Nell O’Hare. Brian was one of three children, Joyce Welkley his sister lives in Rochester, NY and his brother Edward is deceased. Brian spent the past 17 years living in Westerly, RI with Barbara Birch.

Brian is survived by his two daughters, Christine O’Hare, and Heather O’Hare, from his marriage to Brigitte Beaugy. Brian also has had 3 children, Kelsey, Boru and Michael (twins) from his marriage to Ellen Carney. Brian has 4 grandchildren Ryan and Megan Muniz and Jackson and Wyatt Horton. Brian has 2 great-grandchildren Zayden Hewett and Lilah Mae Muniz. He also leaves Dina Becker-Walker, who was like a daughter to him.

Marie Dunlevy, cousin and beloved friend of Cong, Ireland has been in Brian’s life and they visited frequently over 40 years.

Brian would visit Gloversville several times per year to spend time with his life time friends Bob & Katie Bergman, Pat Galea, and Dave and Corky Hitchcock, and cherished his friendship with Diane Corvetti owner of Red Pines B&B on Lake Pleasant, NY. He also leaves Bob Dawson, who shared a great friendship with him throughout the years.

His number one priority in life was his family. The imprint this man has made on all who have met him will forever be his legacy. A wonderful, kind-hearted, warm and genuine friend. A father, grandfather and great-grandfather who adored his family. A storyteller extraordinaire, he had a way of “teaching.” He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
