Carolyn Marie Budziszewski

June 26, 1946 ~ October 26, 2021 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Tribute

Carolyn Marie Budziszewski, 75 of Westerly, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 under the loving watch and care of family at Westerly Hospital inpatient hospice. She was the wife of the late Joseph John Budziszewski. Born in Fall River, MA on June 26, 1946, she grew up in Astoria Queens, New York and was the daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Fernesa) Dine.

Carolyn’s career in public service spanned many happy years at the University of Connecticut’s Avery Point Campus in Groton, Connecticut, where she supported student registration, student affairs, and finally served as Assistant to the Dean of the UCONN Avery Point campus before retiring. Her love of Avery Point; the students; and her close family of coworkers sustained her during her years of service and beyond.
Carolyn deeply loved the ocean; her Appaloosa horse Sundance; and her Boston Terriers, Blaze and Sparky. She spent much joyful time in the company of Sundance and his equine lady friend Kelly. This time spent at the horse barns created many close friends who shared her passion of horses. These dear friends became her extended and beloved family. Carolyn loved the spectacle of Kentucky Derby Day (with mint julip!) and attending polo matches as a spectator.

Listening to her favorite sports on the radio (old school), she enjoyed the trials and tribulations of the New York Mets, Boston Reds Sox, and New York Yankees. Carolyn loved the smell of the ocean, roses, and lilies. She enjoyed lunch dates with friends and the company of family.

Carolyn leaves her son Gregory J. Budziszewski and wife Susan Nolan Budziszewski, her daughter Diane M. Radell, and her loving grandchildren Caleb Radell, Abrianna Radell, Seth Budziszewski, Joseph Budziszewski, and Collin Budziszewski. She leaves her cousin/sister Barbara Feldman and many dear friends who shared her passions and the joy of her company.

In line with Carolyn’s wishes, due to her concern of COVID-19, her immediate family will hold a private burial service. Those wishing to honor her memory with donation are asked to consider http://www.appaloosamuseum.com and https://www.standupforanimals.org/ .
