Kevin S. Grills

Kevin S. Grills passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the Westerly Hospital. He was the son of Peter and Mildred (Blanchard) Grills. Kevin grew up in Pawcatuck, Connecticut and graduated 1975 from Stonington High School.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Kevin became a master electrician. A keen businessman and talented tradesman, Kevin continued to build the thriving business, Pete's Electric Co. Kevin had the mind of an architect and often had positive insights at the many construction sites where he worked. He designed and built his own exquisite home in Stonington, CT. He valued his customers, and many became close friends over the years.

Kevin was especially devoted to his mother, Millie; and they cared for each other for many years until her death. A proud former Defensive End for the Stonington Bears, Kevin loved football. He was a loyal New England Patriots fan. Later in life, he developed an adept yoga practice.

Beneath a seemingly gruff exterior, Kevin was a warm, sensitive man. He enjoyed going to the movies, Italian food, and the occasional espresso martini. He held a deep loyalty to those lucky enough to be close to him. He was a loving and devoted godfather. He cared deeply for his friends and the world that they lived in.

Survived by his sister, Kathi LaPietra; nephews Dylan, Ryan, Justin; niece Elisabeth Grills; and goddaughter, Felicia Urso; and predeceased by his brother Michael. Kevin will be sadly missed by many friends, too many to count, especially the May McCall family who lovingly cared for him.

His funeral service will be respectfully private and donations can be made in Kevin's memory to St. Michael Church, Pawcatuck, CT.
