Rejeanne (Goddard) Guay, 84, formerly Butterfly Drive, Westerly, RI died peacefully on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the Westerly Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Normand D. Guay. Sadly he predeceased her on August 3, 2009.
Born in Granby Quebec, Canada on November 20, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Wilfrid and Anna (Gilbeault) Goddard.
Rejeanne was proud of her Canadian heritage and will be fondly remembered by her family for her meat pies during the holiday season. She and Normand enjoyed many hours and years on the dance floor of the Westerly Yacht Club. Rejeanne also loved to go shopping.
Mrs. Guay will be sadly missed by her two children; Dominique Lassell and her husband Carl of Pawcatuck, CT and Gabe Guay and his wife Jo Kathleen Guay of North Stonington, CT. She was the loving grandmother of Nicolas Lassell of Pawcatuck, CT and Joseph Guay of North Stonington, CT. She also leaves her sister, Therese Pollender and brothers; Gerald Goddard and Maurice Goddard all of Quebec. She was pre-deceased by her sister Gisele Pollender, her brothers Roland Goddard, Jean-Paul Goddard, and Guy Goddard.
Rejeanne’s family would like to thank everyone at the Westerly Hospital for their compassion and all the love that they gave our mom. Everyone went above and beyond their duties to keep her comfortable.
There are so many that we would like to thank personally, Dr. McCormick and Dr. Green who helped us in making some difficult decisions. The Hopehealth Hospice Care Team, especially Megan, your hugs meant so much. All of the nurses and aids, Lee, your loving words, and your sweet touch not only comforted mom but all of us as well, Heather, your love and gentleness were appreciated, and Rebecca, you were the one who held her hand when it was time for her to fly.
Special thanks to Brenda for getting us that extra chair and Zheny, thank you for giving mom one last spa day so that she could be all pretty for dad. Thank you all.
Funeral service and burial will be private.
