Robert Holmes Pattillo, age 78, passed away after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease at the Westerly Health Center in Rhode Island, surrounded by his family and friends on Friday, January 11th, 2019. He was born on February 28, 1940 in Mineola, NY to James G. Pattillo Jr. and Julia (Bowers) Pattillo. He was the youngest brother to James G. Pattillo IV (deceased) and sister Nancy Harris of Greenwich, CT.

Robert “Bob” attended the Hewitt Elementary School in Rockville Centre, LI, from which he graduated the South Side High School and did a post graduate year at Sterling Prep in Craftsbury Common, VT. Bob went on to graduate from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a degree in Economics. Bob was a commissioned officer flying the F-4 Phantoms in the Air Force Reserves stationed at Pope Air Force Base in NC. On July 22, 1966, he married Virginia “Ginger” Ann Ritter. Together, they had two sons Robert Jr. and David.

Bob began his career in Banking at Chemical and Chase in New York City. He eventually transitioned into the textile industry where he held several senior sales and operations positions. Bob worked in the Empire State Building for over 30 years until his retirement. His boys always cherished visiting him at the office and ascending the 102 Floor observatory deck.

Bob and Ginger resided in Darien Ct. until 1995 and moved to the Ocean State of Rhode Island. Bob deeply enjoyed the outdoors, working in the yard and boating with family and friends.

Some of his favorite times out and about were firing up his chain saw, having lunch with friends, and spending time in Vermont with his sons.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Ginger; sons Robert Jr. and David and his wife Jennifer; his 5 grandchildren Matthew, Julianna, Emerson, Addison and Harper; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Ema. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 11am at Church of The Holy Spirit, 4150 Old Post Rd, Charlestown, RI.
