Ruth Swaby

Ruth Love Swaby, 98, of Charlestown, RI, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. She was the loving wife of the late Edward S. Swaby (2003). Born in July 1920 in Kingston, PA, she was the daughter of the Robert and Loretta Oldershaw Love.

Ruth worked as a Nursery School teacher at St Mary’s Hospital for Children in NY City during WW II. After raising her children in Sleepy Hollow, NY, she was an Office Manager at an Orthopedic Surgical group in Tarrytown, NY. She enjoyed gardening, sailing, attending the Charlestown Senior Center and, most of all, playing rummikub up until several days before she passed.
She leaves her sons Edward and Keith (spouses Sue and Cathy), grandsons Timothy, Daniel (spouses Niki and Reyna), Michael and Jonathan and sister Jane Ross. We are extremely grateful for the aids that provided for her continual care.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 1:00p.m. at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Sleepy Hollow, NY. A memorial in Charlestown will be held at a later date.
