Vincent F. “Vin” Gaccione, 96, of Westerly, RI died peacefully on Sunday, October 23, 2022 surrounded by his loving family at his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Thelma (Hughes) Gaccione.
Born in Westerly, RI on April 20, 1926 he was the son of the late Thomas and Theresa (Petrone) Gaccione.
Mr. Gaccione worked for the New England Telephone Co. for many years and later went on to be a Real Estate Agent and was well known for catering many functions in the Westerly community before retiring at the age of 90.
Vin was a life member of the Westerly Rotary Club and was one of the oldest active members. He along with his wife Thelma enjoyed many years traveling extensively throughout the United States and Europe.
Mr. Gaccione will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Patricia Shehan and her husband, Mark of Providence, RI, and Pamela Nardone and her husband, William Greenfield of Brooklyn, NY and Ashaway, RI. He was the loving grandfather of Chloe Bernbach and her husband, Mathew and their daughter Minna; Zenia Morrone and her husband, Brian and their children, Dominic and Alec. He also leaves his sister, Rita Fortin. He was predeceased by his two grandsons, Cyrus Shehan and Woody Greenfield and his sister Lena Parise and brother Joseph Gaccione.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at Noon at St. Pius X. Church, 44 Elm St. Westerly, RI.
Burial with full military honors will be held in River Bend Cemetery.
A luncheon will follow at the Westerly Yacht club after the cemetery committal services.
