Virginia Liguori

Virginia E. “Pinky” (Haggerty) Liguori, 79 of Ann St, Westerly, RI, died peacefully on Wednesday February 1, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Edward H. Liguori.
Born in Westerly, RI on Christmas Eve, 1937 she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Savy) Haggerty.
Mrs. Liguori along with her husband Ed owned and operated the High St. News and Variety in Westerly until 1997. Pinky continued working at J.C Penney store in Westerly and was a dedicated and loyal employee at Bea Smith’s until she retired. She was also an active volunteer at the Westerly Hospital for over 15 years and a communicant of St. Michael Church in Pawcatuck, CT.
“Pinky” was an avid Roller Skater in her younger years and would have been a professional Roller Skater if she hadn’t been swept off her “Skates” by her devoted husband Ed of almost 60 years.
Besides her husband she will be dearly missed by her children; Bruce Liguori and his wife Sandra of Westerly, RI, Dee Mosley and her husband Kevin of Litchfield, NH and Cheryl Buck and her husband Mark of Westerly, RI. She was the loving grandmother of; Jason Liguori, Nicholas Liguori and his wife Maureen, Kevin Liguori, Allyson Buck, Dylan Buck and Matthew Mosley and great-grandmother of Nicholas John Liguori and Michael Edward Liguori.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday February 6, 2017 at 11:00 Am at St. Mary’s Church, 95 Main St. Stonington, CT. Burial will follow in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly, RI. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
